Neal B. Graber, DMD
Meet Dr. Graber
A native of Stamford, Connecticut, Neal B. Graber, DMD graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry after completing his studies at Emory University. As a progressive dentist who is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care, he takes continuing education courses involving diagnostic, cosmetic and restorative dentistry every year.
Right now, Dr. Graber is working on an implant placement and restoration study conducted by the prestigious PEARL Network (Practitioners Engaged in Applied Research and Learning), which is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health through New York University.
He learned about developing salivary diagnostic tools directly from Dr. David T. Wong of UCLA, a mentor who is a global pioneer in this field. Biomarkers and proteins in saliva samples will soon enable the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in addition to other conditions.
Dr. Graber was among the first dentists to partner with StemSave to harvest and bank dental stem cells. Currently, scientists are exploring the use of these stem cells to grow replacement teeth, treat illnesses and repair injuries.
Over the last several years, Dr. Graber has tested dental materials for the president of Centrix Dental, a Shelton-based company, in addition to collaborating with engineers to fine-tune dental products and technology in development.
In addition to volunteering in the local community, he supports SmileTrain, an organization that provides free cleft surgery to children in developing countries, training for medical professionals and rehabilitative care.
